Obituary

Adam Salvatore Cascetta, 40, of South Charleston, WV, became an angel on November 10, 2025.

He was born on December 11, 1984, to loving parents Antonio and Carmen Cascetta. Adam was born and raised in New York City, where he graduated from high school and earned a bachelor’s degree in the media field. While working his way through college, he was an employee at Starbuck’s Coffee Company, which offered him multiple opportunities to meet celebrities. Soon after earning his degree, Adam trained to become a 911 Operator. Working as a 911 Operator opened his thoughts to becoming a police officer. Adam applied to and was accepted by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department in North Carolina. He was honored to be a police officer serving his community for six years. Then, he, his wife at the time and new daughter, Gemma, moved to Charleston, WV, to be close to Gemma’s maternal grandparents. Subsequently, he was employed with the State of West Virginia, first with the Department of Highways, then as an investigator with the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Adam met his future wife, Samantha Withrow, in January of 2023, and the two were united in marriage in July of 2025. Together, they have a son, Ronan.

Adam was preceded in death by his sister, Krystal Cascetta, and niece, Bella Tally.

He is survived by his wife, Samantha; his children, Gemma and Ronan; his parents, Antonio and Carmen Cascetta of New York City, and the mother of his daughter, Hope Selbe.

Adam was a family man who enjoyed traveling, playing video games, assembling Lego sets for his children’s room, but, mostly, he enjoyed relaxing and spending time with his family.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 17, 2025, at the Basilica of the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, Charleston, WV, with the Rev. Father Prakash P. Kerketta officiating.

Visitation will begin one hour prior at the church.
