Obituary
Ann barrett noel, 90 of charleston, w,v passed away on november 1, 2016 at eastbrook center.
She was born in charleston, wv, on august 31, 1926, a daughter of the late george and teresa barrett.
Her father was a fireman and her mother was a nurse and she was very proud of both of them. She
cherished the memory of eating lunch with her father at his fire station as a child.
She was a graduate of charleston high school and worked during ww ii at the naval ordnance plant in south charleston. She later worked for 27 years as a secretary for the wv association of county officials. She was a wvu sports fan (though watching the games on tv made her nervous) an avid baseball fan (especially the wv power), and a lover of all animals. She loved to walk and enjoyed the many, many hours she spent walking her dogs throughout the east end of charleston.
In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by her siblings, george s. Barrett, james g. (buddy)
barrett, patricia ugino, and teresa bay, and by her son-in-law, richard vanwyck.
She is survived by her son, g. Richard noel (karen), and daughter, carol vanwyck; her granddaughters, margo gardner (aaron) and sarah noel (steve cuttler); her great-grandchildren, noah and clara gardner, and noel cuttler; and by several nieces and nephews.
She was a catholic by faith and attended st. Agnes church as a child and sacred heart as an adult.
During her two years at eastbrook, the staff and also the staff of hospice care became like family to her.
The family appreciates the love and care and friendship extended to ann by all at eastbrook, especially renee (moe), cassie, polly, tiara, brittany, and justin, her nurse, as well as hospice workers stacy, pedra, and amy.
Friends and family are invited to attend the funeral at 1:00 p.M., saturday, november 12, at barlow bonsall funeral home, 1118 virginia street, east, with services conducted by father joseph m. Augustine of st. Agnes church. Visitation will also be on saturday, november 12, from 11:30 a.M. Until time of the service.

Carol,
I Am So Sorry About Your Mom, Although I Know It Was A Long Journey. I Have Thought Of You All Often Since My Mom Died. We Did Not Know About It Until Today Or We Would Have Been There. I Am Sure John Will Contact Dick, But Please Extend Our Sympathies To Him. I Wish You Comfort In The Weeks Ahead. My Car Still Tries To Turn Toward Eastbrook On Its Own.
