Obituary
Ann rutledge holliday, 83, of charleston passed away sunday, january 7, 2018 at sweetbriar assisted living, dunbar, wv.
She was born in huntington a daughter of the late kenneth and elsie rutledge.
Ann was a retired teacher and received both undergraduate and graduate degrees from marshall university. For many years she taught elementary students in cabell and kanawha county schools.
She retired from chamberlain elementary school in charleston.
She was a member of first presbyterian church in south charleston.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, susan lockhart, and sister, joyce booher.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, custer holliday; son, kenneth holliday of charleston; grandsons, adam and alex holliday of oregon; granddaughters, jane mccallister and leeanna mccallister of st albans, wv; nieces, jenni booher of cincinnati, ohio, and bethanie brown of charleston, wv.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.M. Friday, january 12, 2018 at the first presbyterian church south charleston with pastor sharon gearing officiating. Burial will follow in graceland memorial park chapel, south charleston, wv.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations made to: kanawha hospice care, 1608 kanawha blvd, west, charleston, wv 25387.
