Obituary
Anne Marie Drew, 77 of Charleston, passed away peacefully on December 3 2022 at The Hubbard Hospice House, after a 17 month battle with Bile Duct cancer.
Anne was born on October 24 1945 in Weybridge, Surrey, England to Vincent and Catherine Keating.
She grew up in Pimlico, Central London and graduated from Notre Dame High School Battersea and Coloma College.
She became a teacher and taught primary school for 6 years. In 1969 she married John Drew and in 1978 she moved with John to Charleston WV following his transfer to a Chemical Manufacturing facility in the Valley.
She loved the laid-back lifestyle in Charleston and particularly over the years the music of Mountain Stage, Charleston Light Opera Guild and the West Virginia Symphony.
She delivered Meals on Wheels for many years and volunteered at St Francis Hospital. Anne was also a member of the Kanawha Trail Club and the International Club. After moving to Lake Charles, La in the nineties, she was delighted to move back to Charleston in 1999 where she subsequently remained.
Anne enjoyed reading and traveling and had been to six continents, including extensive travel throughout Europe, and trips to South and Central America and Australia/New Zealand as well as most of the United States. She returned to England most years in the Spring seeing family and exploring much of Great Britain.
Anne is survived by her husband John and daughter Sophie of Charleston, son Guy of London England, sister Margaret Arnold of London, and Anne’s beloved golden-doodle Daisy.
Memorial Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at Barlow Bonsall Funeral Home, Charleston.

John, Sophie and Guy,
Ian and I had no idea Anne was sick. We are saddened and shocked to learn of her passing. I have fond memories of our lunches, movies, and many afternoon excursions together. We will miss her. With deepest sympathy,

Anne was one of my favorite clients at our salon..she was wicked smart and had almost total recall of names and many details about anyone she met in the shop. She was profoundly interested in individuals’ lives despite having one of the most informed world views I’ve encountered..I will truly miss her .and that razor wit!!

I’m so sorry John, Sophie and Guy.
Your mum was something special.
She did a lot in her short lifetime and knew a lot of people. She made many friends wherever she went.
It was a shock to hear she was sick.
I wish I’d had known… I think my mum didn’t know either. ( Maureen)
I’ve let her know she’ll be devastated.
I’ll be thinking of you all although we haven’t seen each other in decades.
