Obituary

Barbara Kay Scott, 80, of Bickmore, West Virginia, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, July 6, 2026, after a long illness.

Born in Bickmore, Barbara was the daughter of the late Helen Hubbard. She dedicated over 30 years of service as a teacher’s aide with Clay County Schools.

Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Denny Scott; her mother, Helen Hubbard, and her brother, Terry Phillips.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Jennifer Jennings and husband Derek Jennings of Wallback, West Virginia; her cherished grandchildren, Cara Jennings and Alex Jennings of Wallback; her sisters, Alice Miller of Bickmore, Vickie Cottrell and husband Terry of Valley Fork, West Virginia,  Kathy Phillips Taylor of Bickmore, and Tayma Legg and husband Allen of Servia, West Virginia; her brothers, Roger Phillips and Frankie Phillips, both of Bickmore, along with many extended family and friends.

Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Middle Creek Baptist Church in Bickmore, with Pastor Johnny Osborne officiating.

Visitation will begin two hours prior at the church.
