Obituary

Bernard gene horner, 77, of charleston, wv passed away at his residence friday, august 12, 2016 after a brief illness.

Bernard was born july 17, 1939 in bridgeport, ohio to the late virgil and merle bennett horner.

He was a lifetime member of the charleston fraternal order of eagles # 519 in which he served as the past wv president and the aerie president.   he worked with the international union of operating engineers local # 132 for 35 years.

Bernard loved his sternwheelers, and enjoyed bowling with the fraternal order of the eagles league.  he also like to hunt and fish and play softball.

Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his daughter, brenda lee horner; brothers, robert (delores) and frank; and sister, shirley marie

he is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, connie (jackie) sizemore of maysel, wv and deborah (richard) workman of wallback, wv; grandchildren, becky jo (robert) sizemore hancock  of cottageville, wv, katrina  (joey) workman heck of barboursville, wv, jennifer workman (deric) fout of barboursville, wv, jack sizemore, iii of maysel, wv, tracy sizemore of maysel, leanna workman (josh) amos of elizabeth, wv; great-grandchildren, brittani, alejandra, and nicholas hancock, hunter and ryan sizemore, chloe heck, dillon workman and colton amos; five nieces and one nephew; and a special companion, garnet dearien, of dunbar, wv and bobby dearien, of dunbar, wv  and kelsey jacobs of clio, wv.

Celebration of bernard’s life will be held from 6:00 ““ 8:00 p.M. Friday, august 19, 2016 at barlow bonsall funeral home, charleston wv.   his body will be cremated.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations made to: hospice care, 1606 kanawha blvd., west, charleston, wv 25387.
