Obituary

Bethel “Beth” Jane (Campbell) McDaniel, 69, of Charleston, WV, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 29, 2024, following a long illness. She was born on May 27, 1954, to her late father, Cread Campbell, and, mother, Neola Jane (Harper) Campbell.

Beth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She married Bradford McDaniel on September 28, 1978. They shared the joy of raising three children. Beth enjoyed staying busy, and had several careers she enjoyed, including positions with the State of West Virginia, Bell Atlantic/ AT&T, and the Central Intelligence Agency. She was very personable and loved talking with people about anything and everything. She enjoyed painting, walking, singing, driving, and travel. Her favorite food was ice cream. Above all, family was the center of Beth’s life.

Beth is survived by her mother, Neola Campbell; her husband, Bradford; her children, Aaron McDaniel, Heather (Jeremiah) Samples, and Matthew McDaniel; her grandchildren, Liam, Judah, and Ocie; her step-grandson, Dylan; her siblings, Carolyn Arnold, Jeannie Campbell-Blazie, Sidney (Pamela) Campbell, and Steve (Della) Campbell; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Barlow Bonsall Funeral Home, 1118 Virginia Street East, Charleston, WV. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery Park in Charleston.

Visitation will begin one hour prior at the funeral home.

  1. So sorry for your loss. I worked with Beth and she was such a sweet person. My condolences to her family she will be missed.

  2. I worked with Beth in the mailroom at Bell Atlantic many years ago. She was such a kind, polite and caring individual. My condolences to Brad, Aaron, Heather and Matthew. She will be missed.

  3. I was sorry to hear of Beth’s passing. I worked with her at the library commission back in the 90’s. She was one of my best friends there and was a bright spot in that place. She radiated warmth and friendliness wherever she went. She will be missed.

  4. So very sorry your loss. She was a great friend. I have many good memories with Beth. In all those years I don’t remember having the same birthday. Now she’ll be put to rest on our 45th anniversary.
