Betsi gayle brooks, 62, passed away on december 27, 2016 after a short illness

she was born in holyoke ma, she was the daughter of richard and the late grace (nicholls) brooks. Betsi grew up in chicopee ma and graduated from chicopee comp in 1972. Upon graduating from high school she began a very successful career in retail management working for area stores, dorothy dodds and steigers department stores. As a buyer betsi’s travels would take her to the fashion district of new york city and faraway places such as singapore, florence and hong kong.   in 1991 she took a position with stone and thomas in charleston wv where she finished her career.

Besides travel betsi had many other interests such as cooking, gardening, and crafting. Betsi family and friends were everything to her.  she loved to entertain at the home she shared with her fiancã©e” james youngblood. The two were very active in the development of a semi pro football team in charleston. “miss betsi” as most friends would call her was the most kind and generous person you could know. Betsi was always so stylish and had a kind smile that will be forever missed by people in her life.

Betsi leaves behind her fiancã©, james youngblood; father, richard brooks; sister, brenda adams and her husband, robert of south hadley; beloved nephew and niece, robert and brooke whom she cherished dearly. Robert adams and his wife melissa live in ca with their two sons, robert and benjamin. Brooke liguori and her husband kyle and their son jacob live in south hadley.

Betsi also leaves behind many dear aunts and uncle and cousins and close friends.

The family would like to especially thank all of the care staff that betsi had over her last days as well as her dear friends and neighbors
