Obituary

Beverley Follmer Hall, 94, of Charleston, WV, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2025.

Born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, on January 15, 1931, she was the daughter of the late James Francis Follmer and Eva Mae Hamilton Follmer of New York City.

Beverley was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, Beckley, WV, and earned both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from West Virginia University. In order to gain entry to the business world, she subsequently attended Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School in New York City. After then working briefly as a secretary in New York City, she moved to the Charleston area to work for a department head at the C&P Telephone Company of West Virginia. Years of dedicated work led her to a senior management position there, and she retired after 36 years of service.

Beverly remained physically active throughout her life, including rowing, skiing, and running. She completed a marathon at age 50.

She is survived by her husband, John Franklin Hall, of Charleston, her brother, James Mark Follmer and his wife, Frances Perry Follmer, of Salisbury, MD, and several nieces, nephews and cousins, including Janice and Joan Follmer.
