Obituary

Brian Edward Tighe, 53, of Charleston, WV, passed away on May 27, 2026, at Hubbard Hospice House after a long illness. His daughter, Caroline, was by his side.

He was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, on December 18, 1972, to loving parents Michael and Patricia Tighe. Brian earned an associate degree in Sound Engineering at The RecW in Chillicothe, OH. Soon after graduation, he worked with several local groups. Later in life, he worked as a certified HVAC engineer.

Brian was a huge music fan throughout his entire life, with alternative and punk genres being his favorite. In his youth, he was an avid skateboarder. As his illness progressed, Brian found comfort in the simple beauty of the outdoors. He enjoyed sitting outside, watching the birds and wildlife that visited each day. One of his greatest joys during this time was Joy, the Dutch Shepherd who lived next door, whose companionship brought him peace and happiness

He was the beloved youngest son of Patricia and Michael Tighe. Brian is survived by his daughter, Caroline Emily Tighe, who remained faithfully by his side through his final moments; his sisters, Jennifer Stern (Gregg) and Hayley Tighe; and his best friend and brother, Michael Tighe. He was also a devoted uncle to Emily Stern, Jacob Stern, and Devan Tighe McGlaughlin (John), and a great-uncle to Michael Roark.

He will be sadly missed. The family will share details of a celebration of life at a later date.
