Obituary
Candace jean hamer drennen, 62 of charleston, passed away at the home of her brothers on saturday, november 22, 2014.
Candace worked as a child psychologist part of her life and was also a successful business woman in charleston and florida.She was a member of the hissom tabernacle church of emmanuel, charleston.
Candace was a graduate of stonewall jackson high school, the university of charleston and she received her phd in child psychology from oxford university in kentucky.
She was also a member of the charleston moose.
She was preceded in death by her father, james t. Hamer, sr.; son, matthew drennen; and her son’s father, duane drennen.
She is survived by her mother, roxalena hissom hamer of charleston; brother, james “tom” hamer, jr. Of charleston, rick (peggy) hamer of elkview, terry hamer of charleston and rock hamer of nitro; granddaughter, luna; nephews, benjamin, colby and jamie hamer; niece, crystal hamer; grandniece, kaleigh hamer; grandnephew, kaden tincher; and many loving cousins.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to linda sovine and lorrie harman grace knapp for all their loving care given to candace.
Memorial service will be 11 a.M. Friday, november 28, 2014 at the hissom tabernacle church of emmanuel at the corners of pennsylvania avenue and spring street in charleston.
