Obituary

Carolyn Sue Poling, 81, of Clendenin, West Virginia, passed away August 2, 2026.

She was born September 21, 1944, in Clay, West Virginia, to parents Emerson Workman and Juanita (Osborne) Workman. She was a graduate of Clay County High School. Carolyn enjoyed her high school years, participating in many activities, including head majorette, basketball queen. Carolyn retired from ESC (Employer Service Corporation) with 40 years of dedicated service.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Franklin Workman.

Carolyn is survived by her loving children, Kimberly Lynn Hall (Tom) of Charleston, South Carolina, Dennis Dale Beezel Jr. (Lisa) of Clarksburg, West Virginia, Rodney A. Beezel (Taundra) of Elkview, West Virginia, and Alyssa Pettry (Robert) of Clendenin; grandchildren, Corey, twins Connor and Blake, and Christopher Hall, Courtney, Alexandria, and Dennis Dale Beezel III, and Kassidi Wilkinson; great-grandchildren, Braiden, Madison, Jordan, Connor Jr. “CJ,” Paisleigh, Brooks, Maddie, Lilly, Copeland, Harper, and siblings,  Gary Workman of Clay, Connie Holcomb of North Carolina, Mickey Boggs (Jeff) of Clay, and Jo Nichols of Florida.

Carolyn was a longtime Jehovah’s Witness and member of Clendenin Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

“Our mother was a beautiful person, inside and out.” 

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday August 8, 2026, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 7052 Elk River Road North, Clendenin, WV 25045.
