Obituary
Carolyn Sue Reese, of Charleston, WV, passed away peacefully at Hospice House CAMC Memorial on October 30, 2023. She was 74 years old.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Helen Hodge, as well as her sisters, Ann Taylor and Elizabeth Johnson. Carolyn grew up in Elk Ridge, WV, but lived her adult life in Charleston.
Carolyn is survived by her daughters, Lori Wilkerson and husband John, of Charleston, and Carrie Cooper and husband Dennis, of Elkview, WV. Carolyn, affectionately known as “Nana,” was also blessed with five grandsons, Ryan and Dylan Lewis and Rayce Wilkerson, all of Charleston, and Jacob and Seth Cooper, of Elkview, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Carolyn was a devout Christian, who enjoyed reading her bible and listening to her favorite gospel music. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was greatly loved and will be forever missed.
Per her wishes, Carolyn was cremated. In honor of her memory, a memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Loudendale Church of the Nazarene. Pastor Charles “Chuck” Pennington will be officiating.

Our family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Hospice House CAMC Memorial for their loving care of Carolyn and our family during this difficult time. We would also like to thank the staff at Stonerise-Charleston for the care and compassion they showed our mom while she resided there.

I love aunt Carolyn and miss her so much. I will miss our calls, talking about Jesus and the Bible. Praying together, I know she is in heaven now with mom. They are all back together now, grandma, grandpa, Annie, Carolyn and mom. my thoughts and prayers are with you both Lori and Carrie.
