Obituary
Carroll carlton burnside, 62 of charleston, passed away unexpectedly on saturday, july 1, 2017 in charleston.
Carl was born on july 26, 1954 in charleston to the late kreama lee johnson-burnside and james henry burnside.
He was a u.S. Air force veteran, serving as a telecommunications operations specialist. After his military commitment, carl continued to work for the united states government for several years. Finally, he served as a probation officer for the city of baltimore, md, before returning home to charleston.
He along with his fiancã©e, kymberli williams, are of the christian faith and attended church in the charleston area. Carl was a 1975 graduate of west virginia state college, where he received two degrees.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, johnny walker, theopolis burnside and sylvester johnson.
He is survived by his fiancã©e, kymberli williams of charleston; daughter, fatima logan of baltimore, md; and 4 grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 10 a.M. Friday, july 7, 2017 at barlow bonsall funeral home, charleston.
Burial will follow at the donel c. Kinnard memorial state veterans cemetery, dunbar. Friends may call 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations may be made to: west virginia department of veterans assistance, field office charleston, 1321 plaza east, suite 109, charleston, wv 25301.

The Dallas Mavericks Caroll Cb We Called Him Had Just Gotten Out Of The Air Force He Was Employed With Pearl Habor Naval Base Carroll Was Highly Recruited By The United State Dept He Was Hesitant To Go This Was Shortly After The Irian Crisis He Decided To Take The Job As A Communciation. Officer And Left The Islands For Tranning In Wash Dc And His. First Duty Station Was Ghana Africa He Spent 4 Yrs There And Was Assigned To Singapore From There He. Went To Greeks Carroll Told Me The Danger Associated With The Job During The Irian Crisis All Black Employees Were Released Except One African American And The Employee Held The Same Posistion As He Was Taking Communcation Officer. He Also Explained How He Would Travel To Different Countries Under Different Alias Name As An Offical Of The Us Govt With An Offical Passport We Were The Best Of Friends I Was From Virginia And Carroll From West Va I Frequently Visited His Condo In Waikiki Beach Right On The Ala Lai Wai Directly Behind The International Mkt Place Cb Would Take Tony Girlfriend And Others To All Of Tony’ Univ Of Hawaii’S Games Tony Supplied The Tickets My Daddy Was Wendell Scott’ S Personal Barber In Virginia I Had Been A Prof Barber And Now A Celebrity Barber In Honolulu I Supplied. The Haircuts Carroll Was A Great Point Guard In Basketball Carrol I Visited In Balitmore.We Kept In Touch I Would Like To Say His House Was Always Immaculate His Shoes Aligned Perfectly As Well As His Closets Caroll Came Down To Norther Va And Stayed At My House We Had A Great Time I Always Could And Would All Him And My Last Calls Were To No Avail Until I Got A Call From The Great Jason Williams Sister. Nbas Chocolate Thunder Carrol Finance It Was Shocking May The Father Bless His Wife To Be His Daughter And All Its Such A Sad Story My Baby Brother Died In Honolu 2004 And Later That Year Another Of My Friends In Honolulu Was Assinated On Mauai Also Another Of Our Friend Was Tragetly Lost To Outher Trouble May God Bless You Have My Most Deepest Sympathy In Time Of Your Great Lost…He Encourage Me And His Support Help Me To Graduate From Chaminade Univ Of Honolulu The Only Catholic Univ In Hawaii

Carroll Was A Kind, Caring, Educated, Military, Well Dressed, And Spoke With An Air Of Sophistication, Black Man, That Moved Into My Neighborhood A Few Years Ago.
I Met Carroll, While My Sister Yvonne And I, Were Out Walking Her Dog. Our Dog Cocoa Wanted To Jump In His Truck To Be With Him. I Think It Was Because He Smelled So Good.
From That Point On Carroll Would Stop To Say Hello, And Or Wave Hi.
Our Neighborhood Losses Our Electric Power All The Time. When That Happen I Knew Carroll Was Going To Call Or Text Me To Find Out How Long The Power Would Be Off. This Just Happen 2 Weeks Ago.
I Will Miss My Neighbor Carroll, And Think Of Him Every Time The Power Goes Off…
