Obituary
Carter Venable Blundon, 94 years old, of Charleston, WV, passed away January 31, 2026.
A self-admitted Army brat, she was the daughter of Colonel Benjamin Wilson and Augusta (Turner) Venable.
A graduate of Stuart Hall school and the University of Charleston, she was a stay-at-home mother, but volunteered with numerous organizations in the Kanawha Valley over many decades. Closest to her heart was Manna Meal, where she volunteered since it began in 1976, only stopping due to the Covid pandemic.
She was predeceased by her husband, DeWitt Quarrier Blundon, and her son-in-law, Francis John Kosowicz.
Carter is survived by her children, Augusta Blundon Kosowicz, Helen Blundon Cheromcka (Tim), and DeWitt Venable Blundon (Tammie); granddaughter, Ainsley Grace Blundon; many nieces and nephews, great- and great-great-nieces and nephews, and her cat, Alice.
She was the best listener, funny, smart, generous and a true lady. She will be missed by so many. The visitation and funeral service originally scheduled for February 6, 2026, has been cancelled until further notice due to the weather. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Manna Meal or the charity of your choice. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.barlowbonsall.com. Barlow Bonsall Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

The Earth is dimmer, but Heaven has a brighter star with the addition of Carter, a very special lady! My sincere sympathy is extended to her family and friends.
