Obituary

Constantino bernardo “trey” amores iii passed away monday, january 27, 2014 at camc general hospital, surrounded by his family and held up in prayer. While the miracle of his life was not granted, his miracle of kindness, generosity of spirit, and helping others will live on forever.
Trey was born august 8, 1991, in charleston, west virginia, son of janet and jon amores, older brother to marshall and cassiano amores, and grandson to amy and bernardo molina, now deceased, and drs. Constantino and diana amores. In addition to his parents, brothers, and grandparents, trey is survived by his stepmother, linnsey amores; his mother’s partner, robbie parsons; his aunts angie, annabelle, cathy, amy, and karen; his uncles chris, john, jim, and orlando; and cousins john, angel, lilly, maria, ruby, orlando, julian, and trevor.
A boy with a contagious smile who grew up to be a man with a magnetic aura and a heart of gold, trey always put the needs of others before his own. Whether it be his beloved grandparents, or his girlfriend, danielle, his parents, friends, or complete strangers who were in need of a smile or a helping hand, trey was there for them. He grew up in charleston and graduated from capital high school, and was enrolled at kanawha valley community and technical college, where he was studying to become a paramedic. He was employed at moxxee cafe as a barista, and his kindness and gentle spirit touched so many of the patrons and employees there. Trey was also previously employed at fascheck, where he was known to pay for someone’s groceries when they couldn’t afford them. Sometimes trey would touch the lives of complete strangers, with clandestine acts of generosity. That’s just how trey was — he had a knack for cheering people up and making their lives a little better. He also enjoyed exploring nature, climbing rocks and trees, and he had an uncanny ear for music which made him an incredibly talented pianist.
Trey brought light to the life of those who were lucky enough to know him, and even in death his compassionate and healing nature created happiness. Through the ordeal of his hospitalization, the family found the strength to heal old wounds and become one again. Trey’s spirit made this happen. Also, the family finds great comfort in knowing that up to 50 people will benefit from his gift of organ donation. Trey would have wanted it no other way.
The funeral mass for trey will be held on saturday at 11am at sacred heart co-cathedral in charleston, with monsignor p. Edward sadie officiating. Visitation and celebration of trey’s life will be held on friday, january 31, at barlow-bonsall funeral home in charleston, from 5-8pm with a novena prayer for trey at 7:30 that evening.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the camc neuro foundation in trey’s name, for the education and training of neuro trauma nurses, or to the non-profit organization to write love on her arms (twloha.Com), devoted to finding hope and help for those suffering from depression, self-injury, and thoughts of suicide.
The family wishes to thank the staff at camc neuro icu, especially dr. Ronbir biswas, nurse jonathan gladys, the professionals at the center for organ recovery and education, trey’s wonderful and devoted friends, and the untold numbers of people around the world who have sent prayers and well-wishes the last few days. May all of you be blessed with the care and love that trey would want you to have.
