Obituary

Craig O’Brien Carver, 63, of Charleston, WV, passed away unexpectedly with his family by his side on June 6, 2024.

Craig was born on December 19, 1960, in Quantico, VA, to the late Douglas O’Dell Carver and Brenda Lee Edens. He grew up in Sissonville, WV, and was a 1979 graduate of Sissonville High School.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Wilma “Billie” Edens; father, Douglas O’Dell Carver, and sister, Valerie Lee Walker.

Craig is survived by his loving wife, Michelle Carver; daughters, Amanda Carver, Sammie Addair (Logan), and granddaughter, Maislee Addair; bonus daughter, Jayme Goodrick (Rory), and bonus grandchildren, Tyler Derrick, Madison Acker and Anna-Leigh Hill; sisters, Teresa Harper (Wayne), Katrina Bennett (Gary); brother, Douglas Carver (Kathy), along with many uncles, aunt, cousins, and nieces and nephews.

Craig was a true joy to be around. He was a funny, witty storyteller that never met a stranger, In 1983, Craig opened and ran his business, Superior Windows, in Charleston, WV, Virginia and North Carolina for many successful years. When he was not working, he was often found on the ballfield with his daughters. He enjoyed hunting and being outdoors “just piddling.” Since retiring, he took many adventures with his wife and grandchildren.

A celebration of Craig’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at his home.
