Obituary
Curtis r. Deitz, 71 of charleston, formerly of rupert, passed away sunday, december 25, 2016 at camc general hospital, charleston.
Curtis was born on august 5, 1945 to the late frank and lillian dietz.
He was retired from north coast commercial roofing.
Curtis spent most of his life in charleston, graduated from west virginia state university and attended oakwood baptist church.
Additionally, he loved cars, going hunting and playing tennis and watching wvu football.
In addition to his parents, curtis was preceded in death by his brother, gary deitz.
He is survived by his daughters, stephanie (todd) freeman of dublin, ohio, april (ryan) lipscomb of wake forest, nc and nicole dietz of charleston; sisters, caroline (gary) sayre of pauline, sc and gayle (andy) lazare of kernersville, nc; sister-in-law, debbie dietz of rupert; grandchildren, tristan and chase freeman, madison, makenzie and grant lipscomb; and his previous wife, pat butner of charleston.
Memorial service will be at 1:00 p.M., thursday, december 29, 2016 at the oakwood baptist church, charleston with rev. David moutz officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. Private burial will be held at a later time.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations may be made in memory of curtis to: oakwood baptist church, 855 oakwood rd, charleston, wv 25314.

I Was At Canaan Valley When I Learned Of Curt’S Passing. Canaan Was Where I Came To Know Curt So Many Years Ago. I Was Blessed & Privileged To Spend Time With Him & His Family On Presidents Day Weekend For A Number Of Years. Those Were Special Times Shared With Family & Friends. My Condolences For The Loss Of This Gentle Man; My Prayers & Blessings To The Family During This Most Difficult Period.
