Obituary

Daniel “Dan the Man” Lunsford, 58, of Charleston, WV, passed away on July 2, 2026.

Dan was born on November 29, 1967, in South Charleston, WV, to loving parents, William and Sharon Lunsford. After graduating from St. Albans High School, he went on to become a carpenter, as well as a mechanic.

In addition to his mother, Sharon Lunsford, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Virgie Griffith, and his beloved cat, Blanket.

Dan is survived by his father, William Lunsford; brother, Robert Lunsford; sister, Pamela Hudgins; daughter, Jennifer Harper; son, Justin Lunsford; granddaughters, Arianna Harper, Sabrina Harper, Hallie Davis, Lillian Lunsford and Kaidence Harper; grandsons, Zachariah Harper and Lucian Goodman; many special nieces and nephews, along with great nieces and great nephews, and his beloved dog, Noodle, AKA Terd.

When Dan the Man was not spending time with his children and grandchildren, he was enjoying his favorite sport, football. He was a die-hard Mountaineer fan.

A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
