Obituary
Darrell k. “bud” carr, 77, of charleston, passed away june 30, 2015 at the broadmore assisted living facility, located in teays valley.
Bud was a proud 1955 graduate of mannington high school and a 1961 wvu graduate with a b.S. In civil engineering. He was employed for 34 years by west virginia american water co., retiring in 1996. Bud was an avid land surveyor in charleston and the surrounding area.
He was preceded in death by his parents, hazel e. Carr and william t. Carr, and his brother, lawrence t. Carr.
He is survived by his sister, ann jarrell; his wife, kathy carr; daughters, vicky haynes of cross lanes and madeea carr of dunbar; his sons, tim carr of charleston, jeff carr of atlanta, ga., and brian carr of kanawha city; three granddaughters; and one great-granddaughter.
Mass of christian burial will be held at 10 a.M. Friday, july 3, at sacred heart catholic church, charleston, with monsignor p. Edward sadie officiating. Burial will follow in mount olivet cemetery, charleston.
Family and friends are invited to a viewing, which will take place from 6 to 8 p.M. Thursday, july 2, at barlow bonsall funeral home, charleston.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in bud’s name to the alzheimer’s association.
