Obituary

David Roland Eisenhauer, 36, of Graysville, Pennsylvania, passed away at home on August 8, 2023, due to complications of Type 1 Diabetes.

David was born in Daytona Beach, Florida, on May 6, 1987. He grew up in Charleston, WV, and attended George Washington High School. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Mining Engineering at West Virginia University and held several managerial positions with coal mining companies in West Virginia and Pennsylvania.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. R. Edward Hamrick, and Eileen and Charles Eisenhauer.

David is survived by his parents, Emma Hamrick Eisenhauer of Charleston, West Virginia, and C. Nicholas Eisenhauer III, of Port Orange, Florida; his sister, M. Elizabeth Eisenhauer of Graysville, Pennsylvania, and brothers, C. Nicholas Eisenhauer IV, MD (Danielle) of Marshall, Minnesota, and Michael A. Eisenhauer (Natalie) of Morgantown, West Virginia.

Funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Basilica of the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, 1114 Virginia Street East, Charleston, West Virginia.

Visitation will begin one hour prior at the Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in David’s memory to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).

David you will never leave my heart you were the only one that ever respected me treasured me and we kept each other’s stories and never told anyone I will forever love and miss you until I get to hug u again in heaven. along with my momma and my sisters which I’m sure you’ve met by now. Today we laid u to rest but my heart is still breaking and questioning why sos soon life isn’t fair and tomorrow is never promised. prayers to your mom and Lizzy and the rest of ur family. Today I got a coal mine skull bell from Harley to remind me your always with me forever love and miss u always

  2. Dear Emma and Family, I was heartsick when I learned that David died at such a young age due to type 1 diabetes. My thoughts and prayers are with you all as you adjust to this time of grief. I have given a donation to the JDRF in hopes that this condition may find better treatments and possibly a cure for others who suffer with it. Love, (cousin) Margaret Mary

    You was on of my first bosses in the mine. I remember us beating a huge rock out a rutt so we could mine. always talked to us hourly guys with respect and kindness. I appreciate you doing that big favor for me too. you know the one buddy. you will be missed at work and in life my friend
