Obituary

Deborah jacobson victorson, 84, of charleston, passed away saturday, december 31, 2016. Deborah was born january 30, 1932 to the late rabbi solomon jacobson and rose epstein
jacobson in waukegan, ill, coming to charleston in 1956.
She was an educator in kanawha county schools for 40 years. Deborah was a member of the b’nai jacob synagogue, where she was the former president of the b’nai jacob ladies auxiliary. Virginia college of graduate studies. Additionally, deborah was a former president of the she was a 1951 graduate of the university of illinois and received her masters from west charleston chapter of hadassah, was a volunteer for kanawha county schools read aloud program and was active with the ywca, including elderly care and the second seating resale store.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, morton j. Victorson.
She is survived by her daughters, rachel sweet of charleston and evie victorson of mt. Airy, md; son, michael (janet) victorson of charleston; brothers, judge marc jacobson of norfolk, va, dr. Avram jacobson of beverly hills, ca and dr. Norman l. Jacobson of san antonio, tx; grandchildren, jessica sweet, david victorson and sara (adam) scheinbach; and one great-grandchild, itai scheinbach.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.M. Tuesday, january 3, 2016 at barlow bonsall funeral home, charleston, with rabbi victor urecki officiating. Burial will follow at b’nai jacob eternal home, south charleston.
