Obituary

Deborah Kay (Samms) Faulkner, 76, of Marmet, WV, passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at CAMC Memorial Hospital after a short illness.

Born and raised in Marmet, she is the daughter of the late Kenneth and Erma (Kinder) Samms of Marmet. She graduated from East Bank High School, attended WVU Tech and earned her degree from St. Leo University. Debbie was employed with Boilermakers Union #667 as a bookkeeper.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles “Buddy” Faulkner, and siblings, William Samms, Donna Short, Johnny Samms and George Samms.

Debbie is survived by her son, Jonathan Farmer and his wife, Wendi Farmer; three grandchildren, Emma, Brendon, and Darcy; sister, Anna (Samms) Short and several nieces and nephews including Amber Jones and Beth Martin who played a special part in her life.

A born-again Christian, she attended North Charleston Baptist Church. Debbie was an avid reader, loved visiting the beach and spending time with her family.

Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at North Charleston Baptist Church, with Pastor Dave Carney officiating.

Visitation will begin one hour prior.
