Obituary
Deborah Martin Wallace, born in Oak Hill, WV, on April 8, 1955, passed on to be with our Lord and Savior, beloved stillborn daughter Deborah Paige, and her parents and grandparents on November 17, 2023, due to a sudden exacerbation of a long-term illness.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, R. Austin Wallace, MD; three wonderful sons, Richard M. (Christine) of Charleston, WV, Andrew K. (Jaryn) of Tempe, AZ, and Matthew A. of Charleston; treasured granddaughter, Emma Paige, who she adored and who was her knitting, sewing, and cooking buddy; two siblings, Thomas K. Martin (Melodie) of Conway, SC, and Lisa K. Martin of Hurricane, WV, and five nieces and nephews.
Debbie was a registered nurse who made it her mission in life to use her skills to help those around her. She was a very talented seamstress and award-winning quilter, and an excellent self-taught designer and interior decorator.
The family would like to thank the medical providers and staff at Pulmonary Associates, especially Dr. Kevin Eggleston, Dr. Kristin Highland of the Cleveland Clinic, and Dr. John Richards, her longtime family physician, for the excellent care they provided to Debbie over the years. We could not have wished for a better medical team.
Memorial service celebrating her very well-lived life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 2, 2023, at St. Matthews Episcopal Church, 36 Norwood Road, Charleston, WV.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the St. Matthews Episcopal Church, Habitat for Humanity, or HospiceCare, Debbie’s favorite local charities; or to the Lupus Foundation of America.
Condolences may be sent to the family at www.barlowbonsall.com.
Barlow Bonsall Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Debbie and I were friends in high school. What I remember most of her was kindness and always smiling. I was honored to call her friend. So sorry for your loss.
