Obituary

Deloris june snyder hammond, 89, of kanawha city, passed away at her home on wednesday, june 13, 2018.

Deloris was retired from columbia gas transmission as a gas measurement specialist, she had previously worked for amherst coal.

She attended the south charleston christian church.

Deloris was born in kayford and has been a resident of charleston for 72 years.

Additionally, she was an expert seamstress, loved gardening, especially flowers and baking for family and friends.

Deloris was also a devoted reader of the holy bible, a dedicated prayer warrior and loved jesus.

She was preceded in death by her parents, charles and artie snyder; and her husband, jack hammond, sr.

She is survived by her children, jack (jackie) hammond of huntington, deborah burford of charleston and gregory (pat) hammond of scott depot; grandchildren, christa burford, d.J. Hammond, gentry vass, jerica hibner, tara canfield, danya mcclintic, lindsay hammond and chelsie kelly; great-grandchildren, grace, d.J., benaiah, jackson, jed, sadie, brooks, millie, kent, isley, jovie, jaycie, tucker, june, opal, reese, heidi, lexi and blakely.

Funeral service will be 12 noon, monday, june 18, 2018 at the south charleston christian church with pastor ryan greenlee and dr. James wright officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
