Obituary
Donald Lee Burdette, 73, of Charleston, West Virginia, went to be with the Lord on June 11, 2025, surrounded by his wife and family.
Born in Charleston on July 29, 1951, he was the son of Wilbur and Amy Burdette.
Don was raised and lived in Meadowbrook, West Virginia. He retired from Kanawha County Parks & Recreation where he was a mechanic by trade. Among his many skills, he was a skilled carpenter like his father. Don was known for his relentless dedication to serving others before himself. Bringing relief and joy to others was where he found his purpose. He enjoyed cars and storytelling. His greatest joy was anything that had to do with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was quick to treat them with ice cream at every opportunity. He attended the First Missionary Baptist Church of Vandalia on Mountain Road in Charleston, West Virginia.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his extended family Bud and Jackie Doughty, and their children, Bob, Roy, Carol and Joyce Doughty.
Don is survived by Sandra Burdette; his sons, Adrian Burdette, Jamison Burdette (Wife Bernetta), and Joshua Burdette (Wife Sarah), along with grandchildren Paris Morgan, Adrian Burdette Jr. “AJ”, Micah Burdette, James Burdette, Starla Burdette, Alissa Burdette, Dylan Walters, Lyndsey Walters, Arabella Burdette, “C” Cesario Burdette, Erik Burdette, and great-grandchildren, “Extra” Tristan Morgan and A’mora McQuitter.
Don is also survived by his brothers, Larry, Steve and Rick Burdette; his sister, Kathy Burdette, and sisters, Criss and Llady Doughty.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The First Missionary Baptist Church of Vandalia, 1500 Mountain Road, Charleston, West Virginia 25303.

It’s hard losing a sibling. Growing up as the only girl with four boys was not hard, because they had each other to pick on. Love his family and have became close to sandy as she a traveling buddy on our beach trips. Love and prayers to Don family
