Obituary
Dorothy m. “dotti” thomas, 74, of charleston, passed away on monday, april 13, 2015 at the hubbard hospice house, charleston after complications from cancer.
Dotti was a member of st. John’s episcopal church of charleston.
She was a graduate of cornell university.
Dotti in her younger years was an avid tennis player and participated in the management of the sweet sixteen tennis tournament.
More recently, she turned her attention to stained glass, creating several windows for st. John’s episcopal church of charleston children’s chapel.
Additionally, dotti was a member of the st. John’s hand bell choir and also organized the church bridge club.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, stephen thomas; sons, evan (michelle) thomas of charleston and william (melony) thomas of columbus, oh; sister, carolyn (ralph) lodders of yarmouth port, ma.
Funeral service will be 2 p.M. Thursday, april 23, 2015 at st. John’s episcopal church of charleston with rev. Marquita l. Hutchens officiating. Burial will follow at mountain view cemetery, charleston. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.M. Wednesday, april 22, 2015 at barlow bonsall funeral home, charleston.
In lieu of flowers “ the family suggests donations may be made in honor of dotti to: st. John’s episcopal church of charleston, foley fund (for the repair of stained glass windows),1105 quarrier street, charleston, wv 25301.
