Obituary

Duane “Mike” Berry passed away October 25, 2024, at CAMC.

He was born on August 10, 1946, son of Ulysses and Ruby Berry.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sonnie Payne.

He served in the U.S. Army and worked at the Smokehouse for many years.

Mike is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patsy of Charleston, WV; children, Brian and wife Jackie of Concord, NC, and Chad and wife Sarah of Elkview, WV; two grandchildren, Michael and Kylee Ann; sisters, Dreama Wellman of Huntington, WV, and Sharon Martin of Poca, WV; and brothers, Greg of Rand and Steve of Sissonville, WV.

Mike always loved helping in Little League baseball. He loved deer hunting, playing golf, traveling, and going to McDonalds and eating with the older guys. He was well-loved and will be missed by all.

Funeral service will be held at noon on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at Barlow Bonsall Funeral Home, 1118 Virginia Street East, Charleston, WV, with Pastor Homer Wiseman officiating. Burial will follow immediately at Donel C. Kinard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Dunbar, WV.

Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

  1. Patsy and sons I’m so sorry for your loss.. I selected this heavenly looking candle as he enjoyed hunting under the beautiful sky and as a remembrance of him being in Heaven with my mom who loved him, his parents & sister. I bet they gave him a hug when his soul entered Heaven. As you already know, he was loved by many and will be missed by many.
