Obituary

Earl c. Richmond, 90, of saint albans, passed away saturday, june 6, 2015, under the care of hubbard hospice house west. Born in cabell county, wv, on 10 october 1924, he was preceded in death by his parents, hinton and bessie richmond and his wife phyllis austin richmond.
Earl is survived by his children, michael (janice) richmond of texas, kayla hoover of nitro, karl richmond and debbie shelton of st. Albans, 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-children.

Earl graduated from milton high school in 1942. He served in the army air corp during wwll serving his country in the china-burma-india theater. He retired in 1986 from union carbide with 36 years of service. He loved hunting, fishing and all sports. He played ball with several leagues and umpired little league and babe ruth baseball for many years. He was a member of the st. Albans american legion where he held every position from commander on down. He was also a member of the vfw and amvets. He enjoyed serving on the american legion honor guard providing the deceased military member and their families the tribute they deserve.
A big thanks to moses ford for making dad part of your family.
Earl donated his body to wvu medical center in hope of helping those studying to be doctors.
The family would like to thank the wonderful folks at thomas memorial hospital icu and the wonderful folks at hubbard hospice house west for the kindness they showed while taking care of dad.
A memorial service will be held at 4 pm, saturday, june 27, at american legion post 73, located at 1011 pennsylvania ave, st. Albans, wv.
