Obituary

Eldena Wade Light Kincaid, born October 28, 1947, departed on September 16, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Antonio and Rosa Fragale, and Eugene and Nettie Light; father, Elden Light; mother, Teresa Huggins; one brother, Stephen Huggins; one sister, Josephine “GiGi” Smail, and her best friend, Terry Phalen.

Eldena is survived by her devoted daughter, Teressa Ann; two beloved granddaughters, Sydni Bryant and Amber Farley (Alex), and four cherished great-grandchildren, Sadie, Alex, Allen, and Evelyn. She also leaves behind her ex-husband and close friend, Allen, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and former customers whose lives she touched.

She attended Montgomery High School and graduated from St. Albans High School; Eldena went on to earn her degree from Morris Harvey College. She was the owner and operator of Sincerely Yours Answering Service, Physician and Nurses Answering Service and West Virginia Message Center, which she built into a successful business that served the Kanawha Valley for 44 years until her retirement in April 2024. It is said that she spoke to nearly everyone in the valley at least once over the phone.

Eldena was a devout Catholic whose faith guided her throughout her life.

Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, with visitation beginning two hours prior, at Sacred Heart Co-Cathedral Catholic Church, Charleston, WV. Burial at Montgomery Memorial Park, London, WV, will be at a later date.

    My family extend to Teresa and the whole family for the departure of your Mom, sister, ex-husband, friends. It is really very hard to loss a mother, wife, husband , grandma, friend. We pray for her peaceful stay UP there with our Lord, friends. I wish I can attend her last day on earth.I always saw her around on several of my invitations wedding, birthdays, Philippine church prayers to name a few. Take care of yourself Teresa.
