Obituary

Elizabeth Ann Hopkins, 84, of Charleston, WV, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2025, at Riverside Valley of Journey, St. Albans, WV.

She was born on November 16, 1940, in Charleston, to parents Renison and Evelyn (Standish) Lawrence. Elizabeth was a graduate of Charleston High School and earned a bachelor’s degree
from Manchester College in Indiana.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Edward Hopkins III, and her older sister, Joan Mastronardi.

Elizabeth is survived by her sister-in-law, Rachel Ann Nelson, and her husband, James R. Nelson of Charleston.

She was a longtime faithful member of Elizabeth Memorial Methodist Church. She and George loved their cats. Elizabeth loved working on needlework.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 31, 2025, at Elizabeth Memorial Methodist Church, 108 Oakwood Road, Charleston, with Rev. Jonathan Dierdorff officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the church. Elizabeth will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park in South Charleston, WV, immediately following the service.
