Obituary

Elizabeth “Betsy” Merriam, of Buffalo, New York, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at the age of 80, at her residence in Danville, West Virginia.

She was the daughter of the late Delbert and Catherine (Bartle) Merriam.

Betsy is survived by her daughter, Alexandra, and her brother, Rudyard.

She was a retired schoolteacher who loved to travel. Prior to moving to West Virginia, Betsy lived many full years in Florida, Vermont, and South Carolina. In her spare time, she enjoyed Geocaching and playing mobile games; Candy Crush was her favorite. She also enjoyed making Paracord bracelets, so much so that she entertained the idea of opening her own business.

Betsy was a spirited, loving person who will be missed.
