Obituary

Elizabeth persinger chadek, 58, of martinsburg, wv and formerly of charleston, died on tuesday april 15, 2014.
Elizabeth was born in charleston on october 3, 1955.  she was the fourth child of meredith t. Persinger and mary boland persinger.  she was preceded in death by her parents, and by her beloved husband, stephen c. Chadek.
Elizabeth was a graduate of charleston catholic high school, and attended
marymount college of virginia and morris harvey college.
She is survived by her brothers, meredith thomas persinger of charleston, joseph m. Persinger and wife, julia of annapolis, maryland, powers persinger and wife, kathy of charleston, and by her sister, mary persinger of cincinnati, ohio.  she is also survived by nieces and nephews, emily persinger proctor and husband, tim of san diego, california, cynthia persinger lisa and husband lcmr michael of hollywood, maryland, john persinger and wife sarah of erie, pennsylvania, valerie persinger of lawrenceville, new jersey, brian persinger and wife, vickie of morgantown, and drew persinger of charleston.  in addition, elizabeth is survived by six great-nieces and a great-nephew, many close friends in martinsburg, and her faithful dog mingo.
Elizabeth was a loving wife, daughter and sister, and cherished all of the friendships she maintained throughout her life.  she was a dedicated sports fan, and enjoyed following wvu football and basketball.  elizabeth was also devoted to the many dogs she adopted over the years.
Friends may call from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm on monday, april 21st at barlow-bonsall funeral home, charleston, where there will be a christian prayer vigil at 7:15 pm.  the mass of christian burial will be concelebrated at 11:00 am on tuesday, april 22ndat st. Agnes catholic church, charleston, by father chris turner and monsignor p. Edward sadie, and assisted by deacon joseph m. Persinger.  interment will follow at mt. Olivet cemetery, charleston, wv.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the: st. Agnes charleston endowment fund of the west virginia catholic foundation, 1300 byron st, wheeling wv 26003, or to the muscular dystrophy association of west virginia, 900 lee st east, suite 1010, charleston, wv 25301.
