Obituary

Eva Lee (Abbot) Kelly, 86, of Charleston, WV, passed away peacefully August 20, 2023.

Eva Lee was born in Charleston on September 15, 1936, to the late William M. and Edythe C. Abbot.

She attended Stetson University upon graduating from Charleston High School in 1954. Eva Lee retired from CAMC Memorial after 30 years of dedicated service. She was a member of South Ruffner Presbyterian Church which she dearly loved. Eva Lee enjoyed her CHS 54 chic’s luncheons with her high school friends and was an avid fan of WVU basketball. She enjoyed sewing, crafts and her daily walks.

Eva Lee is survived by her daughters, Terri K. Spears (Robert) and Katherine K. Smolder (Doug) of Charleston and Ann Hoover (Warren Baker) of Canonsburg, PA; grandchildren, Whitney Spears, Patrick and Emily Smolder, and great-grandson, Caiden Smolder.

Graveside service for the family will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at the Abbot Family Cemetery in Beckwith, WV. Pastor Phil Dunn will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to South Ruffner Presbyterian Church,
300 20th Street S.E., Charleston, WV 25304.

    Eve Mae was one of the most wonderful people I have ever met, friendly, sincere, caring & sweet as could be. Sorry I have not seen her in a long tome, but have wonderful memories of our time at Memorial Hospital. Peace, my friend. .. Tom
