Obituary

Our beautiful angel, genevieve mary orin hogan passed away from this world on friday, august 12th at 2:00 p.M. She was 24 years old. We held her hands and tried to comfort her, as her life slipped away. She is free now from the thirty days of suffering she endured in her fight to come back to us.
Genny was the light of many lives and was a thoughtful and loving daughter. She was loved by many and never met a stranger. In spite of her life-long health challenges, she remained s joyous and generous spirit and never let anything stop her from having fun. Genny attended st. Agnes catholic church and school. Genny, was a graduate of george washington high school and played lacrosse on the school’s team. She completed the phlebotomy program at bridge valley community and technical college and graduated at the top of her class. She was employed by exam one as a traveling phlebotomist and was meticulous in her service. She was a devoted caregiver to the elderly.
Genny loved animals especially her dalmatian-phoebe. She rescued many animals-patiently nursing them back to health. Every spring would bring a menagerie of critters to the enclosures she kept on our deck. Every fall she would release her charges back into the wild.
If you knew her, you loved her. We will never fill the void she has left in our lives.
Genny is survived by her devoted parents, sharon and bill hogan; grandmothers, grace lite and lorraine harms, aunt’s, carolyn harms (viston), therese whit (rick); cathy menclewiez (jeff), her birth uncle, scott guffey (patty) and many cousins and friends to numerous to name here.
The family would like to thank father joseph augustine for his attention to our family. We want to also thank all at camc memorial who worked tirelessly to save her. Especially nurse, kevin sloan of the cardiac icu whose kindness and good counsel we will never forget.
Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.M. Wednesday, august 17, 2016 at st. Agnes catholic church, 4807 staunton ave., southeast, charleston, wv with father joseph augustine officiating.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 -8:00p.M., tuesday, august 16, 2016  at barlow bonsall funeral home, charleston, wv with a rosary service at 7:30 p.M.

    Hello,

My Name Is Tashea. I Did Not Know Genevieve Personally But I Know How Hard It Can Be To Lose A Loved One In Death. I Have Experienced The Pain That Comes From Losing Someone Close To Me So My Heart Moves Me To Share With Others What Has Helped Me To Cope At Such A Difficult Time.

I First Want To Say That I Am Very Sorry For Your Loss. I Do Not Know If You Are A Bible Reader Or Not And I Hope I Do Not Offend Anyone, But The Scripture That Has Given Me Comfort Is The One Found At 2 Corinthians 1: 3, 4. It Says, “Praised Be The God And Father Of Our Lord Jesus Christ, The Father Of Tender Mercies And The God Of All Comfort Who Comforts Us In All Our Trials So That We May Be Able To Comfort Others In Any Sort Of Trial With The Comfort That We Receive From God.” I Would Like To Share With You The Comfort I Have Received From God. He Promises At John 5: 28, 29 That “The Hour Is Coming In Which All Those In The Memorial Tombs Will Hear His Voice And Come Out, Those Who Did Good Things To A Resurrection Of Life, And Those Who Practiced Vile Things To A Resurrection Of Judgment.” So God Has Promised That In The Very Near Future We Will Not Only Welcome Back To Life Our Loved Ones We Have Lost, But We Will Also Never Have To Experience The Pain Associated With Death Ever Again. I Pray That This Gives The Family Some Comfort During This Difficult Time. If You Need Anything Or Would Like To Know More About What The Bible Says About The Future, Feel Free To Contact Me. Have A Great Day.

I Want To Extend My Sincere Condolences For The Loss Of Your Beautiful Daughter. Death Brings So Much Sadness And I Want To Share A Comforting Scripture With You. It Is Found At Isaiah 41:10, 13. It Shows The Love Our Heavenly Father Has For Us By Saying, He Will Take Us By The Right Hand Saying, Do Not Be Afraid For I Am With You. No Matter What We Face, God Will Help Us Get Through It.
