George Walter Hodges, age 85 of Loudon, TN, passed away Saturday, October 7, 2023, at the Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness.

George was born December 6, 1937, in Hernshaw, WV. His mother and father were George Curtis Hodges and Neola E. (Price) Hodges. Thompson.

George was a past sales rep for an office furniture manufacturer in Washington, DC, a partner with Hodges Realty Co., Inc. in Charleston, WV, and president and owner of Automotive Leasing Systems, (operating nationwide for 12 years). George bought Grass Run Farms in White Sulphur Springs, WV, in 1971-2003 and raised Beef Cattle. In 1985, Hodges Realty & Construction built Salina Village Apartments in Malden, WV. George and Pat owned and operated Cabin Club Restaurant in White Sulphur Springs, WV, from 1990-1995, he later built and operated Fox Hill Farms in 1999-2005, which was a registered farm of Polled Hereford. In 1999, George had some very major health issues, he and Pat moved to Loudon, TN. In 2006, after he recuperated they bought land and built another American Self Storage, LLC business and currently operate it.
George’s mother use to say he should have been a comedian. He always had a story to tell. He was an avid collector of antique pocket knives and antique cars. He was a member of the East Tennessee Regional Antique Car Club, Antique Automobile Club of America, Early Ford V8 Foundation, National Knife Collectors Association and local chapters. George enjoyed reading books and hearing stories about the civil war, listening to Frank Sinatra, gospel, country, and marching band music.
