Obituary

Glenna plunkett neely, 87, of charleston, passed away friday, june 27, 2014 at camc memorial hospital after a short illness.

She was born in anjean on november 2, 1926.  her parents were hubbard and leatha “bobbie” plunkett of buckhannon and later charleston.

Glenna swam at the ywca two days a week and was very active in her church.

Her love of life and travel has been a joy and blessing to her.  glenna’s travels took her all over the world; the 1960 olympics in rome, hawaii, australia, a safari in africa and a cruise on the nile.  one of her favorite trips was going to negril, jamaica with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, tom and two wonderful husbands, leo “jack” fleming and boone neely.

She is survived by her children, sandy yakim, nancy fleming, mary ann carney, barbara spearman and jim neely; grandchildren, erin, molly, kelly, patrick, nick, erin and samantha.

Memorial service will be held 11 a.M. Monday, june 30, 2014 at christ church united methodist, charleston with rev. Julie halstead officiating.  a reception will follow the service at the church.  inurnment will be at the wallace memorial cemetery, clintonville.
