Obituary
Harold morton howie, 90 of kanawha city, recently of edgewood summit, passed away at camc memorial hospital on saturday, september 30, 2017.
Harold was a retired cpa for the west virginia public service commission. Previously he worked at union carbide corporation and in public accounting.
He was a life resident of charleston and a 65 year active member of st. John’s episcopal church. Recently he completed the four year certification program in education for ministry (efm).
Harold was a graduate of stonewall jackson high school and west virginia university. He received his masters degree in business administration from the west virginia college of graduate studies.
In his spare time, harold enjoyed engineering matters, reading, painting and music.
He was preceded in death by wife of 62 years, mildred s. Howie.
He is survived by his children, harold richard (deborah) howie, of pittsburgh, pa, thomas b. Howie of san antonio, tx, anne howie beattie of jacksonville, fl; grandchildren, sarah, megan (gerwel), and michael howie, allison and elizabeth beattie and two great grandchild, stephen and brayden gerwel.
Memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.M. Saturday, october 14, 2017 at st. John’s episcopal church with the rev. Marquita l. Hutchens officiating. Inurnment will follow in st. John’s episcopal church columbarium. A reception will follow the service and inurnment at the church.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to st. John’s episcopal church, in memory of harold m. Howie, 1105 quarrier st., charleston, wv 25301.

It Was An Honor To Have Met And Gotten To Know Harold And Millie. We Met Them Through Great Friends Shortly After Returning To West Virginia In 2001. We Treasured Their Friendship. What A Lovely Family!

I Am So Sorry To Hear Of Harold’S Passing.We Were Friends For Many Years. I First Met Mildred At West Virginia State And Then Later I Moved Stratford Road And We Became Walking Buddies. Of Course Harold Became My Friend Too. I Enjoyed Seeing Them At Church At The Gym , At The Symphony And Visiting Their Home On Mount Alpha. I Have A Lot If Good Memories. I Miss Them Both.
