Obituary
Howard K. “Coach D” / “Skeet” Daniels, 83, of Charleston, WV, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2023.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 24, 2023, at Levi First Missionary Baptist Church, 5125 Church Drive, Charleston, WV 25306. Interment will immediately follow at Spring Hill Cemetery, Charleston, WV.
Visitation for family and friends will be two hours prior to the service, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations in Howard’s name be made to Capital High School Baseball Team Booster’s Club, “Cougar Ball Pen Club.”

A GREAT MAN WHO TAUGHT YOUNG HOW TO BECOME MEN USING ATHLETICS AS HIS WAY OF CONNECTING WITH MANY OF US. HE WAS A FATHER FIGURE MANY OF US WHO HAD FATHERS. HE HAD A WAY OF REACHING ME JUST WHEN I NEEDED TO BE REACHED. COACH D HAD A SPECIAL WAY OF KEEPING ME GROUNDED AT ALL TIMES. THIS MAN TAUGHT ME LOTS OF LIFE LESSONS THAT I LIVE BY TODAY.
