Obituary

Harold Edward “Ed” Wilson, 64 of Elkview, passed away at home unexpectedly on July 13, 2022.

Ed was born on October 10, 1957 to the late Cecil E Wilson & Cluster J Wilson.

He graduated high school in 1975 from Havelock High School in NC and went on to attend technical school in WV, where he found his perfect niche.

He retired from AT&T Wireless after 25 successful years.

Ed was always highly respected by his co-workers, who always spoke highly of his friendliness and work ethic.

He enjoyed many years fishing with his wife, Melissa, was a NASCAR fan and enjoyed driving his1969 Mercury Cyclone.

Over many years, together with his wife, he rescued a large number of abandoned & special needs cats.

He was a huge advocate of spaying & neutering to help control the pet population.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kevin M Wilson.

Ed is survived by his wife of 39 years, Melissa Martin Wilson; brother, Brian C Wilson (Kate) of Benson, NC; eight nieces and nephews; and his loving rescue cats that he adored.

There will not be any services per Ed’s request.

    Ed was an awesome friend and coworker. We worked together for 25 years! He will truly be missed! He always had a smile on his face no matter what. He could fix anything I would break. Hugs and prayers to his family!

    I am deeply saddened to hear of Ed’s passing, he was a wonderful person and a beautiful soul who could light up anyone’s day. I am blessed to have had the pleasure of knowing and working with him at AT&T for decades. He will be missed.

    I am very sorry for your loss. I will be praying for him. I was a co-worker of Ed’s from 2004 until 2019 when he retired. He was a great friend and mentor as I was getting up to speed. He provided valuable feedback that helped the entire team. I will miss him.
