Obituary
Ida jane sommer robinson, 92, of charleston died tuesday, december 27, 2016 at hubbard hospice house.
Ida was born in mason county to the late charles w. And sophia louise jividen sommer. She was a graduate of pt. Pleasant high school, point pleasant, wv. She spent most of her life in charleston.
After graduating high school at sixteen, ida had many jobs. She worked in pt. Pleasant for a bank, then moved to charleston to work for capitol city supply co. As a bookkeeper.
She was an active member of asbury united methodist church for seventy years. While raising her children she volunteered with schools, pta’s, cub and girl scouts. After her husband’s death she became a licensed realtor with carte realty company. She was a founding volunteer with ronald mcdonald house of charleston and continued with her duties until her death. Ida was a sister of chapter k-peo.
Ida will be remembered for her wit and wisdom, love of travel, and educational pursuits for herself and others. Her love and acceptance of family, friends, and all will be her lasting tribute.
She is preceded in death by her husband, john m. Robinson; son, thomas a. Robinson; and sister, katherine sommer shadle.
She is survived by her children, jane a. Robinson, of glen ferris, wv; carol a. Robinson (gary) carraux, of charlotte, nc; nancy robinson of grapevine, tx; brother-in-law, carl robinson (lanona) of pinellas park, fl; grandchildren, matthew m. Robinson, amy m. Carraux (chris) price, and benjamin carraux (jennifer); great-grandchildren, anna-claude price, john a carraux and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.M., wednesday, january 4, 2017 at barlow bonsall funeral home with pastor joe jarett officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: ronald mcdonald house, charleston, wv; asbury united methodist church or charity of choice.

For The Past Year, My Son Tim , Researched The Luh History And I Put Together A Revised And Complete History Of The Philip Luh Family With Pictures. Tim Discovered Ida Jane Had Passed Away. I Am Sorry I Was Unable To Attend Ida’S Funeral. Our Beloved Cousin, Who Was Always There For Her Extended Family Of Cousins. My Mother, Goldie Click Beattie & Her Sister, Ora Click Weigand Sayre Were Very Close To Her.I Loved Talking “Family” With Her And Appreciated In Recent Years Sharing Some Sommer Family Photos Including Her Grandmother Sommer As My First Cousin Victor Weigand Has A Grandaughter, Amanda Jane.
