Obituary

Jackolin Davis Epperly Shiels, 97, born January 9, 1925, to Herman and Nearle Lilly Davis, began her final journey on August 3, 2022.

Jacki’s life was devoted to caring for others by serving in the medical profession, beginning as an LPN, then becoming a registered nurse and nurse anesthetist.

Preceding Jackie in death, in addition to her parents, were her beloved husband, Dr. Thomas V. Shiels, and her brother, Herman L. Davis, Jr.

Survivors include son and his wife, Paul D. and Karen Epperly; grandson and wife, Garrett T. and Regina Epperly, and children Natalee and Karissa; granddaughters, Kimberly and husband Timothy Romeo, Jennifer Fleshman and companion George Jones, and Jennifer’s son Russell Miller; niece Julia and husband Howard Mollohan, and extended family.

Honoring Jacki’s request, there will be no services.

The family wishes to express their appreciation for the wonderful care and consideration given to Jacki and for the compassion shown to the family by the staff of Hubbard Hospice House West at Thomas Memorial Hospital.
