Obituary

Jaiden Deamphis Decosta Weekes was born on May 2, 2005, in Brooklyn, NY, to Rolanda Ortiz and Deamplis Weekes. He spent his formative years with his grandparents, Ganna and Yabba, who cared deeply for him. Later, his mother relocated the family to West Virginia, where Jaiden attended Capital High School. Driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, he worked at Scooby’s Icy Treats yet often expressed to his Ganna his ambition to return to school and pursue a career in real estate — aspiring one day to sell her a house for only $1.00, believing she should contribute something towards it.

Jaiden leaves behind cherished memories with his mother, Rolanda Ortiz; stepfather, Rahkeem Check, father, Deamphis Decosta Weekes; stepmother, Kassandra Weeks; his Diddy Emmitt Liggins; siblings, Saniah Hoyle, Shakira Blunt, Kassidy Taylor, Indigo Blizzard, and Fyre Weekes; aunts and uncles, Zaviera Hardy-Hough, Nathaniel Ortiz, Kimberley Bonanno, Atiya Ortiz, Tashia Weekes, Essence Weekes, and Romann Weekes; godparents, Deshawn Gilbert (preceded in death) Eva Shakespear; godson, Legend Peart; grandparents, Ivette Bryant, Hakeem Muhammad, Sarah Muhammad; great-grandmother, Rebecca Harrison; to highlight a few cousins, Jahmad, Destiny, Zahkaya, Jahmique, Jahtique, Jakai, Jahsire, Tyara, Javier, Jamel, Jaleel, Sevyn, Giana, and his love, Georgia Jenkins.

Jaiden will be remembered by all that love him.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 12. 2025, at Barlow Bonsall Funeral Home, 1118 Virginia Street East, Charleston, WV.

Visitation will begin one hour prior at the funeral home.
