Obituary

Mr. James Kevin Earley, 60 years old, of Charleston, WV, passed away on Friday, July 7, 2023, at home from a sudden illness. He was born in Charleston on December 1, 1962.

James pursued a lifelong career in Law Enforcement as a Peace Officer in Los Angeles, California. He returned home to Charleston, WV, to help care for his mother, while working as a manager at Drug Emporium.

Left to cherish his memories, Wife Madeline Earley-Green, Sons James Earley, Josiah Earley of California, Daughter Kiana Earley-Palafox, granddaughters he adored (Gibran) of Arizona, Mother Josepha Hamilton, Sisters Rose Pleasant, Alice Turpin (Gary), Sally Burkes (James), all of Charleston, Niece Effoloia Young, of Huntington, Nephews Robert Pleasant (Emily) of Charleston, Patrick Earley of South Carolina, Milton Pleasant (Natasha) of Ohio, Elijahjoseph Pleasant of Charleston, along with a host of Cousins and lifelong friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at Barlow Bonsall Funeral Home, 1118 Virginia St. E., Charleston WV 25301.

Following the service, a reception will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Women’s Club of Charleston, 1600 Virginia St. E. Charleston, WV 25301.

  2. James was a life long friend from our early days at Piedmont elementary until current he was a very nice man. He loved his family. He called me his BFF. I will miss you James. You were such a caring, loving friend. Thank you for 60 years of friendship. My deepest condolences to your wife, children and family. You had a heart of gold. Fly high my friend.

    My condolences to James’s family for their loss. I knew James through my Mum Mary when he worked with her at Heman G. I remember his kindness from when I was 13, he gave me a Fire engine model with everything needed to build it, had for it many years. I know that he is going to be missed by a lot of people. His family is in my prayers.
