Obituary

Jane callicoat saluta, of charleston, wv went home to be with the lord on december 31, 2016.She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, kenneth and dorothy callicoat.

She is survived by her daughters, shaun heafner and erin saluta. As well as her daughter-in-law kim roberts, son-in-law, john heafner and her grandchildren, noah, christian, and rebekah heafner, along with her sisters anne sorhuus and barbara morrison.

Jane lived an adventurous life in some of the most vibrant and beautiful locales this world has to offer. Born in logan, wv she spent her formative years in charleston’s south hills neighborhood attending charleston high where she was a cheerleader.  following high school jane attended marietta college where she studied art and served as the treasurer of chi omega sorority. After finishing her education jane left to explore the world: starting in nyc. While in nyc she worked for time life and in her cosmopolitan adventures met her husband, donald saluta. After an exciting and romantic courtship the newly-wed couple moved to pebble beach, california to raise their family. Upon her daughters coming of age jane allowed the country roads to take her home and to spend her final years in the embrace of her parents and family whom she loved so dearly.

Jane was a patron of the arts and an advocate for education, love, and understanding. She served kanawha county faithfully as a purveyor of knowledge in charleston’s downtown library. In her spare time she dedicated herself to her family, neighbors, church, west virginia public broadcasting, and the hubbard hospice house. Her infectious laugh and zest for life will be sorely missed by her family and all who knew her.
