Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jane Weise Haley, a loving mother, daughter and sister, who passed away on February 19, 2025, in Charleston, West Virginia, leaving behind a legacy of love, humor, and kindness. Jane was the devoted mother of Sydney Haley Stevens and Emma Haley, and she cherished her daughters, loving them “to the moon and back.” She also enjoyed the companionship of her beloved dog, Lainee.
Jane was born in Charleston, West Virginia, on May 28, 1965, the youngest child of Charles and Elaine Weise. Throughout her childhood, she enjoyed playing tennis and volleyball, as well as swimming at her grandparents’ pool.
Jane graduated from the University of South Carolina and earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Charleston. She worked as a financial analyst for the West Virginia Public Service Commission and later served for decades as Chief Financial Officer of WVU Physicians of Charleston.
Jane enjoyed gardening, cooking, and making family and friends laugh. Like her mother, Jane had a beautiful smile that would light up a room. She is deeply missed but will always be remembered for her strength and warmth. Her unwavering devotion and her sense of humor will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to be part of her life.
Jane is survived by her beloved daughters, Sydney Haley Stevens (Jacob) and Emma Macauley Haley; her father, Charles C. Weise; her siblings, Mary Lou Weise-Stusser, Charles C. Weise, Jr., and Suzanne Weise (Patrick McGinley); nephews, Charles Paul Weise (Jamie Smith) and Jacob Laurence Stusser; and niece, Mara Elaine Stusser.
At Jane’s request, no funeral services will be held, and a Celebration-of-Life Ceremony will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Jane’s memory to your favorite charity or humanitarian cause.
Condolences may be sent to the family at www.barlowbonsall.com.
Barlow Bonsall Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
