Obituary

Janice Carol Brown, 71, of Dunbar, WV, passed away on February 3, 2026.

She was born on December 26, 1954, in Sissonville, WV, to Phyllis (Newhouse) Brown and James Carl Brown. Jan was a 1973 graduate of Sissonville High School, graduating with her twin brother, James Carl Brown II. A graduate of Morris Harvey College, she had a career with the FBI and with Dunbar WV PD.

She was preceded in death by both parents and her baby sister, Sarah Margaret Brown Biber.

Left to cherish her memories are her brothers, Jim of Charleston, WV, Frank (Virginia) of Ripley, WV, and John (Kathy) of Rocky Point, NC; brother-in-law, Russell Biber of Virginia, and many nieces and nephews.

A service to honor Jan was at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Floral Hills Memorial Mausoleum Chapel in Sissonville.
