Obituary

Jason Gerald Camidge passed away August 19, 2024, after just turning 45 years old.

Jason was born August 7, 1979, to the late Betty Camidge (mother). He was an avid Magic The Gathering player, loved Dungeons and Dragons, and was a collector of many things like G.I. Joe figures and Transformers. Jason had several different careers in his lifetime and made some lifelong friends along the way. While he liked to pretend that he wasn’t, Jason was a very selfless and giving person. When he truly loved and cared about somebody, he would give them the world if he could.

Jason was survived in death by who he considered to be his mother and father, Vera Battemarco and Gabriel Lutringer; and who he already considered as his mother and father-in-law, Tami Mobley and Greg Mobley; his fiancée, Megan Mobley; son, Lucas Camidge; daughters, Odessa Camidge, Lydia Henson, and Raven Henson; sister, Frances Mahadas; brothers, Matthew Mahadas, Christian Debritto, Richard Harrison; brother-in-law, Michael Mobley; brother and sister-in-law, Christopher Mobley and Brittani Mobley; as well as several other aunts and uncles, nieces, and cousins.

Lucas is Jason’s pride and joy, his only son. He wanted nothing but the best for him and Jason knew that Lucas deserved it whether he believed it or not. He loved to watch movies and play video games with him. Odessa is the love of his life, his first-born daughter. He loved to spend time with her either cooking, teaching her Magic The Gathering, or just watching movies and playing games. Jason and Lydia had a rocky relationship, but they loved each other. He could see how bright Lydia is and would teach her math and read to her so that she could be the smartest in her class. Jason and Raven, they are best friends. She would go anywhere and do anything for him, and he would do the same for her. His children meant more than anything on this earth to him.

Jason also loved cooking, especially with his daughter, Odessa, by his side. Making dinner for his family was one of his favorite things to do. He loved making different kinds of curry, ramens, and anything with rice. While he was not able to do it as much later in life, Jason loved to travel. He always encouraged his son, Lucas, to go out and travel the world, but he also promised to follow him wherever he went. He wanted nothing more than to take his family to the Philippines where he had spent a lot of time. He would have traveled anywhere if he could go with family. He would sing to Lydia while he brushed her hair because she hated when anybody else would do it. With Raven, he would just sit and cuddle while she played a game or watched TV.

Family meant everything to him. Whether it be somebody from his past or present, if you were family to him it didn’t matter. He would do anything he could to be there and support you. While Jason looked scary and mean on the inside, he was a true sweetheart if he allowed you to see it. He was a true leader and all he ever wanted was for his people to succeed. Everything that he did in life was to help mold who he considered to be his people so that they would grow and succeed. All he ever wanted was for people to better themselves and better their life because he knew that everybody had potential. The world has lost a truly great soul.

The memorial service for Jason will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Fisher Memorial Church in Kenna, WV. As he was cremated, there will be no funeral service. Any and all friends and family are welcome to come celebrate the life of a man that was lost to soon.

Jason will be truly missed. I got to know Jason working together at Peraton over the years. I’m glad that I got to work with him in person before we moved to 100% remote working. He and I worked together on a team and he always brought a positive energy towards everything and everyone he interacted with. I still got to talk to him a lot even after we worked remotely and he would always tell me how his family is doing and he cared so much for his family and friends. He was always full of smiles and laughter and he always went above and beyond for his clients at work. I pray for the family and friends who will miss him dearly. Jason was a kind soul in this world and he will be missed.
