Obituary

Jean Ann Kiser, 91, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2023.

Jean Ann was born on May 23, 1932, to Edward and Vivian Koch in Charleston, West Virginia. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Roger Kiser; her daughter, Sandra Rasmussen; and her siblings, brothers Eddie Koch and Brig. Gen. Jack Koch.

Jean Ann is survived by her daughter, Valerie Bone (Jim) of South Charleston; son, Col. Kevin Kiser (Caryn Morin) of Colorado; son-in-law, Karl Rasmussen of Texas; grandchildren, Lauren Wood (Thomas), Megan Bone, Andrea Rasmussen, Eli Rasmussen (Xio), Melissa Rasmussen, James Hayes (Crystal), and Melanie Estrada; six great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Margaret Koch, Alice Quick and Tina Koch; her special friend, Clarence Wingo; and many nieces and nephews.

Jean Ann was a graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School and Morris Harvey College. She retired from Employers Service Corporation in 1999 as Vice President of Personnel and Administration after more than 27 years of service. She was a member of Canaan United Methodist Church (previously Central United Methodist Church).

There will be a gathering of friends and family to celebrate her life in July.
