Obituary

Jeffery Lane Mizelle, Jr., “Jeff,” 53, of Charleston, WV, passed March 29, 2025, at his residence.

Jeff was born to the late Jeffery Lane Mizelle, Sr., “Big Jeff,” and Ella Catherine Mizelle, “Cathy,” on February 19, 1972. He was born and raised in Windsor, NC. Jeff began to grow his family when he met the love of his life, Lorie. They were married on July 13, 1990 – giving them 35 years full of love and laughter. In addition to his wife, Jeff also has one daughter (Amanda) and one grandson (Asher) whom he thought the world of.

Over the years, Jeff had two fulfilling jobs, a large portion of his career was spent at Bertie Sentry Hardware in Windsor, NC, and the last 10 years were spent with IOUE 132 Operators Union as an Oiler in Charleston, WV. Outside of work, Jeff’s passions were playing guitar, listening to music (especially Kiss), and spending time with family.

Left to cherish his memory is his surviving wife – Lorie Mizelle, daughter – Amanda Browning, son-in-law – Scott Browning, grandson – Asher Browning, all of Charleston, WV, two brothers – Alfred Mizelle of Windsor, NC, and Junior Mizelle of Morehead, NC. Jeff also leaves behind numerous nephews and nieces he loved dearly.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on April 12, 2025, at Walker Funeral Home in Windsor, NC, with a visitation following at the same location to connect with family and friends.
